More pics!

Busy week. I've been out of touch since last Monday? Hon's sister was in town last week to visit and I took the night off to take her out of town for lunch. There's so much to do and we had NO time.

So we went to Sedona but didn't make it to Schnebly as the rain has eroded too much of the roadway. But we had a nice lunch and took some great pics...she enjoyed it much.

Hon, of course, is posing her in all types of pics with different views, etc. Little does sis know she was propped next to this little sign on purpose. She and I are laughing behind the lense and sis is like, what are you two whispering...we showed her the pic on the digital and she shared the humor. She really did get in some great shots.

In other news...we had our lastest ultra sound the following day. All went very well...except as I laid there looking at the wall size screen before me and how cute and moving about they were, I said, aloud, "what are we going to do when they come out?" Let alone, of course, how are they going to come out.

Of that, I'm in denial and do not think of. Every once in a while it creeps in that there are two living "kids" inside of me and it's way too much to comprehend. It can get kind of anxious as well, but hey, people do it all the time. Except for the purchase of a minivan in the near future, it's all good, LOL!

The pics can sometime seem a bit spooky. They're still skinny but the next few weeks they'll start gaining some weight and filling out like babies.

Anyway, the tech, who was WONDERFUL, said they have all their toes, fingers, kidneys, heart (chambers), cords, etc. The brains looked good, they were weighing 9 oz. each, about 10 in. each, and both had 143 heart beats. They may/may not be identical but so far all seems to be in check. Still don't know gender, much to her dismay. Hon almost buckled but I held strong and said no way! I was quite proud of that.

The doc was happy to see I'd finally gained weight. Apparently that was an issue for him, and hon. I guess 1 pound isn't acceptable for twins at 5 months...? Who knew? So, I'm up 7, 10-15 is normal but I'm still good. Most weight is gained in the 3rd tri anyway and goodness knows I'll plump up soon enough.
This last baby pic is like, what are you looking at...well the baby to the left is actually facing away. The upper part is the back of the head, shadow of ear to the right and then the neck and shoulders and back. The thin line to the right of baby a is the membrane showing two different sacs and then a shadow over baby b's head looking somewhat downward.

The picture, in person, is amazing, you can see the shoulder blades and everything. Can't wait for next visit and more pics, although they will be more difficult as they grow, less room to get good shots.

And because I've been going through another exhaustion spell, what do I do with my time? Rock Band of course! We broke it out Casino Night after the chips fell where they may and we played on.

I think I was yelling at someone for failing our set. Or possibly for distracting us which then caused us to fail our song or gig or tour, or something.

Great game, I highly recommend it. Love the guitar and drums but not so much the mic.

Casino Night...take one!

So we held/hosted our first Casino Night Party via Rainbow Fences. About 18 of us played poker and/or craps and had a blast. There was a $10 buy-in per person for $700 in chips, tournament play ... whoever (top 3) ended the eve with the most dough split the pot.

I didn't do too shabby as Craps dealer and gambler extraordinaire. It was difficult to follow but my buds assisted (read: watched me like a hawk, haha). I ended up like 5th or 6th place however hon scored at second place playing poker, at just over $2,400 while our friend Batter cleaned up on the craps table at a nudge over $2,500. Carmie, again on craps, took third at $1,800 +. I was lagging behind at $1,500. But it was fun which was the major deal.

Everyone had a blast; they are all dying to do it again. Some didn't want to leave and by 2 am I was beat and ready for bed. The kitchen this morning was over-flowing in beer cans, wine bottles, varieties of alcohol, and some "red stuff" in a blender...I woke with the biggest head ache, mind you I drank decaf iced tea all eve.

I was wiped...I took a two hour nap this afternoon after cleaning up and a shower. Hon's sister flew in from FL this morning so I had to vacuum and tidy before her arrival. The three of us this early eve was a sight, all of us tired and wrecked for different reasons. They both chilled out as I left for work. Thank goodness it's a short week.

Cutie

Reading an article on AfterEllen.com and apparently there are a number of projects Salma has entered into. One is her role as a vampire, yet again, for a circus? Very odd premise, but there is also a cartoon flick and another film thereafter.

Looking forward to the finished work. I usually enjoy the work she does and she is quite the maverick with her own production co. as well. Also, were posts of the new mom with her little one, Valentina. What a beauty.

Because I didn't think to say it first...

When I read the news the other day, about Marion Jones serving time for her lying about steroid use, I thought immediately that it was harsh. She's lost all that she ever deemed of value, her career, her accolades, her honor, etc. yet she is now going to do 6 months in prison. I didn't agree with it at all.

Well, I stumbled along this little note on the www this eve and thought I'd share. It can be found in it's entirety here. I highly recommend reading the entire "article" as it is VERY valid and VERY honest and so once again shows the true priorities and workings of our society.

BUSH - ”My decision to commute (Mr. Libby’s) prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby. The reputation he gained through his years of public service and professional work in the legal community is forever damaged. His wife and young children have also suffered immensely. He will remain on probation. The significant fines imposed by the judge will remain in effect. The consequences of his felony conviction on his former life as a lawyer, public servant, and private citizen will be long-lasting.”

Marion Jones has been stripped of her medals, her endorsements, her money, and her career. Her reputation is forever damaged. Her family, including her two young children, have suffered and will continue to suffer immensely. The consequences of her admission to steroid use will be long-lasting. In addition to all of that, she’ll also have a prison record — Scooter Libby will not. Here’s what Judge Karas said at Marion Jones’ sentencing:

“I want people to think twice before lying,” Judge Karas said in Marion Jones case. “I want to make them realize no one is above the law.”

Libby placed another woman’s life in jeopardy. The life most affected by Jones’ action was her own. Both were untruthful with investigators. However, Libby is a friend of the Bush-Cheney-Rove administration (the true axis of evil), and with that kind of power, even murderous intent can be wiped away with the stroke of a pen.

Mr. Bush, instead of accusing yet another country of WMDs and to get us involved in yet another unwinable war...

(President Bush said Sunday that Iran is threatening the security of the world, and that the United States and Arab allies must join together to confront the danger "before it's too late.")

...why don't you take time out of your busy Chicken Little/Peter Wolf life and pardon Ms. Jones, eh? Christ does this guy ever quit ringing the bell over false pretenses?

Cocktail faux pas...?

So hon and I went to this spa cocktail party for a friend of her's. We had a nice time, she took photos of everyone for the hostess and I sipped on cranberry juice. We talked politics, sexuality, relationships, babies, investments, etc. After about an hour and a half or so, my hon pulls me from one conversation to introduce me to some other folks that came in a bit later in the eve.

Turns out we all went to school together some 20 (or so) years ago. One of them being the hostess' latest love interest. OMG - it was a hoot. We were laughing and pointing, "yea, I know you! I knew you looked familiar..."blah blah.

I made mention to one particular party goer about things done in the past which was quickly denied..."oh, that wasn't me, I didn't do that..." Oh, I'm so sorry to have busted you like that before your girlfriend. Although the two have been together just shy a decade and the events I referred to were over TWO decades ago...she was either in denial or was so wasted she truly forgot her history???

Quite funny, hon just excused herself to "take more photos" and we continued chatting and reminiscing. All in all it was a good eve but I guess not all nostalgia is welcomed...lesson learned.

OMG!! LOVE IT!!!

Had to post what I read this eve for those who may not happen across this on their own. SO freakin' funny I was jumping up and down in my seat when I read it. Wish I was at home with hon so we could discuss and laugh our asses off. SO understand you, Tammy! As hon always says, "Power is sexy!"

Women in the House RULE!

"oh. one more thing. let's be real. let's be serious. if hilary gets in that oval office... that is one sexy bitch. regardless of whether or not i vote for her, she'd be a WOMAN in DA HOOOOOOUSE. and let's be real some more. that's kinda sexy.... hilary in her presidential suits, in charge of so many things... whoo... like a lady in uniform... okay. i admit it. First post of 2008!

So I'm jumping right in to maintaining my NY resolution. That's New Year's not New York's. Okay.

So I'm psyched, even though I have one more evening before me, tomorrow morning after work I'm on vacation. We leave for California straight from work. Headphones and a nap and I'll be ready for visiting family, the beach, Disney, all of it. Looking forward to the getaway. I'll be benched for most of the rides but just being there...it's the "happiest place on earth" for crying out loud!

Last year we went crazy (much to my own hand) on presents and quite frankly, it wasn't appreciated so this year we got everyone socks. That's it, just socks. We told them for the past couple of months that was what would be under the tree and why. The money we spent previously could have been given to familIES who would have really appreciated it. It was just sick what was spent and to a degree, wasted last year.

In lieu of having material items that would be broken, abandoned, misplaced, or neglected we decided to donate a lot to charity and just schedule a trip for the holiday for the family. After everyone got their 20 pairs of socks ... and a set of pjs, we opened Santa's gift, Disney Monopoly. Once Hon told everyone where we were going the screams carried t/o the house.

Then we said, grandma's coming too. More hootin' and hollerin' and grandma was already advised as we had to change her flight home but the kids just thought it was brilliant. So, I have my mp3 to jazz up, the psp and video cam to charge up, and ensure we have enough batteries that the digital doesn't die. How's that for some alliteration? eh?

I'll be sure to post pics as they're much more fun to look at then my ramblings on whatever.
