NY Pride - quick blurb

Didn't get home tonight as planned so will try to catch a flight in the wee hours of the am tomorrow. To leave you with some vision of my last four, four? ... FIVE nights I've posted some pics of a place I spent just about every evening after walking and shopping the city. Check this place out for more details.

I will be posting actual pics of the events and sights seen, and those that were to be unseen, as soon as A) I get home and downloaded and B) I get the throw-aways developed and scanned. On the actual PARTY day (Sunday) we didn't risk taking our digital as there are FAR too many women...hm- can there be such a thing????

Anyway, the bars are crazy packed beyond imagination and capacity ordinance means what exactly??? So once you get to the bar you park it and hope someone in your group is hamster-like (w/o bones) to get drinks ...also the streets are just as insane so it was just the safe way to go.

Back to my original point...pics and details will follow in the next few days. This is PRIDE SEASON people so show your colours and wear them proudly. If you ever have the opportunity to step out and show support it's a wonderful experience and those who have especially those that are "straight and not narrow" we love your energy and thank you.

Wonder Woman ?

Yea, I could see it...

Much a buzz about who will play the woman with the golden lasso of truth. Years ago my vote was totally for the not so married Zeta-Jones. Well, she takes herself far too seriously nowadays for a role such as that. Not like CLOONEY didn't play Batman but whatever. Then someone during a conversation not so long ago tossed Beckinsale's name in the mix and (for me) it's the only one that stuck so I have my fingers crossed. That of course is assuming this project ever gets off the ground and made (much like Rand's Atlas Shrugged????) so we'll just have to wait and see.

Everyone needs some colour...

So my partner went out of town for the weekend and while she was gone I missed her very much. Now I always miss her but on occasion I also enjoy the time alone. This was not one of those times. Perhaps it's the pending trip to NY next week that has me in a more spirited mood buy I genuinely and greatly missed her. So while she was gone I went to CostCo and picked up a couple of those baloon kits. Had to travel west of my house to find they only had them at the location east of my house.

Anyway...three hours later and well into the morning after my eve shift, I blew up (with help of helium tank) 100 balloons.

Only 99 actually made it but I figure that's pretty good! So here are the pics - only wish I had one of her face when she entered the room - PRICELESS!!!! The ceiling was covered in them and by the afternoon when she got home they noly had about an hour or so left in them before they began dropping. Excellent timing. I fretted over it all morning. Kept the blinds drawn, fan on and maintained it as cool as possible to sustain "life". Hey it was only 110 today!!!

Made a "miss you" cd which I had playing when she entered the room. Gushy and stuff, yes; but it was so much fun and well worth it.

HOW ADORABLE!!!

So what exactly is a dosha and can you find it in a deli? Actually found some of this rather interesting and accurate although I haven't been considered outgoing since I was about eight...I think?

Your Dosha is Pitta

You have a quick mind, a gift for persuasion, and a sharp sense of humor.

You have both the drive and people skills to be a very successful leader.

Argumentative and a bit stubborn, you have been known to be a little too set in your ways.

But while you may be biased toward your own point of view, you are always honest, fair, and ethical.

With friends: You are outgoing and open to anyone who might want to talk to you

In love: You are picky but passionate

To achieve more balance: Be less judgmental of those around you, and take cool walks in the moonlight.

Saving ScreeEch

Okay-there's a new link to the right which should take you HERE. Now I haven't done any research beyond reading the article I found in AZREPUBLIC and what was found on the website so it's up to you individually to verify if this is PR or true. If it is true, which something in me tells me so - then that really sucks and the scum sucking lawyer from NY does need to be facing some punishment as it's not too difficult to pick up a phone (ESPECIALLY when the other party is calling) and let someone know, "hey can't be done, good luck to you."

Instead, he chose to ignore the calls and let this guy sweat it out without giving him the chance to try another route. The timeline is sketchy so from what I read it was at least a month gone by that he was working with Arthur - any more than that and I may have gone for a second "plan B" route just in case but he did appear to be persistent with the phone calls to NY to get some answers. I don't know - if you care to or can do so - help him out.

There are many of those in need out there and I know he is a former celeb and that he jacked his own credit (maybe) but for myself, even if her weren't a celeb I give him credit for the creative means he's trying to gain the dough to save his abode so I am sending in my $20 (asking that he change the profanity) and getting a shirt hoping that perhaps it does ultimately save his domain.

I can't save everyone, but for those that cross my path at the right time when I can help out, I will do what I can to help out. So, if you want to read the buzz, click on the link above or to the right. If not....hm, I guess just don't click.

Time to kill...

watching another's work while they went to break so I was able to check out an online IQ test and rec'd the following results...

Your Intellectual Type is Insightful Linguist. This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Hm...wish it translated to my daily life and increased my annual salary?? LOL!

There was one particular question I had two answers for so I took the "Pose" off of each answer and came up with the two position below. It's actually very accurate because, especially during the summer, I am so Tetherball. Fun quiz. Thanks, Wen!

I am a tetherball!

Found on Yahoo...

Jack, the orange-white cat of 15 lbs, sits waiting under a tree where a black bear is stuck in the backyard of West Milford, N.J., Sunday, June 4, 2006. The cat chased it up another nearby tree when the bear climbed down trying to get away.

OMG!!! How cute is that!?

ROLAND ROLAND ROLAND...

So with the second of the grands slams coming towards a close it's been overall quiet until today. There's a new tennis teen star on the rise and she's passing up the "old timers" as we sit and watch. Nicole Vaidisova , 17 years old, is still in the running outing seed 1 Amelie Mauresmo and the ever popular Venus Williams. Damn girrrrrl!!!! There's been buzz about her going all the way this year, at least in France...I mean on the clay court...playing tennis; for crying out loud people! Get your head outta the gutter!?

Anyway, she isn't expected to go any further into the finals however she wasn't expected to get as far as she has already. Either way should she make it to the final round she'll be facing either Henin-Hardenne or Clijsters; ouch! I favor HH myself but Clijsters has made her point on more than one occasion so we'll have to see. I tend to not follow the French Open as much as I do Wimbledon or US and I don't watch or follow the Aussie at all but she may be someone to keep an eye on. Although I think I am more inclined to track Ana Ivonovic as well. There's something very Gabrielle about her...I dunno.

In the men's realm, it's Federer looking to take yet another title and record as well. This will be his straight 8 Slam showing should he make it into the semi-finals and if he wins he'll only need Wimbledon to make it four in a row. Again, I am a Safrin fan mostly because he has good hair (not a very good reason, I know) but I also can't and don't ignore Federer's skill. This guy is amazing and covers a court well, more than deserving his titles and reputation. But to be honest I haven't followed much of men's tennis since Boris Becker and Goran Ivanisevic; they were a lot of fun to watch.

No matter who is playing, however, there is only one hero on the court in my book and she is still just as amazing as ever. After decades of play she has acheived 18 Grand Slam Women's Singles Titles , 31 Women's Doubles Titles, and 9 Mixed Doubles Titles for a career (thus far) total of 58 GRAND SLAM TITLES. That's beyond applaudable. I've seen her speak in DC and she was inspirational and gracious and is so worthy of respect as an athlete.

Given the trials and tribulations shes been through in her career; what a Phoenix!!

Anyway, I was reading the latest on the tournament and thought I'd blurb on it.

The weekend is coming, the weekend is coming...

I never had the chance to see this in the theatres however, now that it is out and about on dvd I am taking advantage of the oncoming days to watch this delightful film. The buzz I heard was less than positive but I am only in it for the vampire thrill anyhow and I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie.

I mean really, who could not find the subsequent pics below enjoyable?! It's unimaginable.

WOW!!!!
