SHE'S GOT TEETH!!! SHE'S GOT TEETH!

Thought he would surprise us with some bite first but after momma fed her fresh pears I was wiping up her mouth and she sucked in my finger - low and behold she bit me! I pulled down her bottom lip and found the two cutest little white bits peekin' back at me. I began to scream, "She's got teeth!" over and over and she started crying and everyone came running from all corners of the house. We laughed and cried (a little) and made phone calls to all the grams and pops in the land.
I tried hard as I could to get a pic of them. She was relentless. I tried the bottle first, no good, then my finger; still no good. I tried two fingers, her tongue would cover - this girl was very protective of her new grown teeth. But alas, after much perseverence, and about 20 min., I captured GOLD!!! Now I check Grayson at least twice a day - NOTHING! He's taking his time.

It's COMING !!!!!!

NANOWRIMO is a mere 10 days away! I've been thinking to sign on again this year although I have yet to complete successfully. This year would truly be my most ambitious attempt by far.
I feel I must. I've been strategizing plots for the past two weeks and still I've nothing. I am not quite sure how this will all come together, if at all, but I will try and not watch the numbers so much but to merely gain at least HALF the ground I'm suppose to. If I fall too far behind I know I'll only quit altogether so I won't focus on that but rather continue to exercise regardless til end of month.

I'll keep you posted!

the TWIN tycoons

The "big ones", aka Kara and EJ, went to Party City to surprise us with baby costumes for their first Halloween. Well, they actually found one for Grayson but not Chloe.
Isn't he dashing?! Not to be outdone by her twin bro, they dressed Chloe in it as well. She looks pretty good as well, the little Drag King she is!
We went to so many different stores to find her SOMETHING to wear that was complimentary. When that failed we checked those same several store for something equally as cute/clever. Still no go. Finally we found her a costume that was at least color coordiated to his and can maybe be pulled off as a cocktail dress with his suit?
She's a ladybug - we haven't had the full ensem on her yet, we'll see how best it fits together on day of - but let me just say the girls, at least in this town, get robbed.
The boys section has race car drivers, firefighters, po po, astronauts - and yes, a girl could wear them but #1, they aren't as cute on the girls for the way they are made, and #2 if I dressed her in that this early in the game they would think they were twin boys and she'd be mad years later that her two lez moms tried to gender role or rather, NOT gender role her - or whatever - forget it - she's a ladybug*, dammnit!
*Note the ladybug in A Bug's Life was a guy! I'm just sayin'.

DOWN on Wall street

the latest bogo update

I was home with babes yesterday afternoon - and very glad I was. Chloe, for the first time ever, started laughing! FULL ON laughing and I was amazed. Grayson has let out some chuckles before as well and it is adorable but she was loud and squeaking and laughing like ... like... like a person?! She had a big girl moment, I guess.

Anyway, I busted out the video camera to catch the last of a squeak and then crickets. Nothing. Not a peep. Not even a smile. What a little bizzy thing already. But I had witnesses and I got to see it and it was great!

Bashing Sarah

I've been pretty clear, from the birth of this blog, on what side of the aisle I reside. This year's electoral process or whatever the hell this mess should be called, is really getting on my last nerve.

I do not believe everything said and done is sexist or racist. Has there been exercises in both, absolutely. However, there are moments when both sides have straight up lied or misled the public with their ads, during debates, and at rallys and conferences. It politics. I get that but is it just me or does this seem to be the most juvenile media bashing ever?

Read this on MSN:

"Sarah Palin is taking heat Wednesday for appearing to overstate the role of vice president, saying in a recent interview that she would be "in charge of the Senate" should John McCain win the White House.

The comments came in an interview with Colorado TV station KUSA in response to a third-grader's question, "What does the Vice President do?”

Maria Comella, a spokeswoman for Palin, said the Alaska governor was simply answering the question in a way a third-grader could understand.

WHO CARES?!?!?! You should see the comment page that followed the article. I don't even read them anymore, they are so nasty and foolish. People are baited, even with the simplest of material, and they run a tangent. Why is this woman so hated? Feared, okay - I get that considering her lack of experience and positioning should her ticket be elected. But hated? Hillary rec'd the same conduct.

I'm not connecting any dots here but there is certainly more hostility in this race toward the women candidates over the men - and THAT is straight talk.

New pics

We went to Flagstaff last weekend for my nephew's football game. They won 18-6 - anyway, it was freakin' cold and windy!

The cold wasn't bad at all - about 45 or so - but the wind was a b**ch so we bundled the babes and took them out. She was awesome - didn't cry or fuss, was styling with her shades and crazy lookin-lady blanket.
He was a candy a**. I told him he better buck up before sledding season. Momma was coddling him; once I took him out of the car he was fine. We chatted, got on the same page, and he was good to go.

"It was a beautiful day in the valley - I'm not really quite sure what momma and mommy were thinking?!"

"Who are you calling a candy a**?!"

WOW just isn't enough

Amazing story of an amazing woman in amazing circumstances. It does give truth to the idea of strength of the human spirit - to be so brave and pure and open! The light that is in this woman is so truly inspiring that I cannot imagine anyone reading her story and not feel something. I double dog dare ya!
