Thanks Leesa!

Some important info for pet owners as well as parents of small children. Check out this article and video about common house/landscaping dangers. High poisons that can kill without any form of warning at all. Makes you realize the need to do research on just about al you do that some little one's can get into.

Could be... Who knows....?

There's something due any day
I will know right away
Soon as it shows
It may come cannonballin' down through the sky
Gleam in its eye...Bright as a rose!
Who knows?
It's only just out of reach
Down the block, on a beachUnder a tree
I got a feeling there's a miracle due
Gonna come true
Coming to me

Could it be?
Yes it could
Something's coming - Something good
If I can wait
Come on - deliverTo me
Will it be? Yes it will
Maybe just by holding still

I'm HOME!!!

I went to the ER last Friday after work because my PC said he suspected a blockage in my esophagas due to my symptoms getting worse and nothing showed on the xray. I didn't think I was going to be admitted. Well, I just got home and have been diagnosed with GERD. Guess I've been suffering reflux for some time and caused damage to my esophogas. I've tons of pills to take and a whole new diet to live by.

No CHOCOLATE
No CARBONATION
No COFFEE
No CAFFEINE
No SPICY FOODS

...death ahhhhhhhhhhh

But all in all I am very glad to be home. REALLY glad to have showered, and using my computer. Still fighting for good health in the new year! LOL!

Never gonna believe this one

Just to check in for those that stop by on occasion...

I'm sick...AGAIN! Been running a fever since at least Monday when I finally broke down and went to see a doctor (NOT my fave people). I have since gone to another doctor because I didn't care for the first sooo much and everything got a hell of a lot worse.

I have had blood work, xrays, and am awaiting another test but all I can say is I have had no food, no beverage, and no rest since...ohhh, hmmmm, Tuesday? Yea, about that, although I did take a percocet which got me at least sleeping last night, WHOO HOOO!!!!

Outside of that though, I have some funky ass pain behind my sternum almost like when you eat something too big for whatever reason and it gets stuck? Well I didn't eat anything I just woke up and that feeling was there. If I try to even swallow salive it's painful. Has anyone, ANYONE ever had this and done the doc route...and if so can you give me a clue. I can go without food buy I am dying for a drink. Did I mention I live in AZ? I can only be thankful it's still "winter" at least.

I'm to take a dye test next week but I'm really hoping they got what they need off the xray cause I'm just about over this already.

So, not to cry in everyone's ear but I've been couched all week and just barely checked in for email etc and thought I'd catch up.

Is this true?

Your Blogging Type Is Thoughtful and Considerate

You're a well liked, though underrated, blogger.

You have a heart of gold, and are likely to blog for a cause.

You're a peaceful blogger - no drama for you!

A good listener and friend, you tend to leave thoughtful comments for others.
Although being underrated I guess I'll never know...LOL!

The simpler things...

I have griped a lot around the house lately. As I've posted before I've been sick with cold/flu something awful and we've now dubbed it the Bitch Cold, dun dun dunnnnn. So, although I've been cranky, in retrospect it's not that bad...but when I'm sick I really like space. That's not easy to come by in a house of 4 dogs, 2 birds, 4 children, several fish, and my girlfriend. Especially in a space that is just under 1600 sq ft!!! I keep saying more and more we need to move!!! I want a designated office, my OWN bathroom, and a garage again...lol! But in all honesty these are some of the things I truly enjoy although they may not know it. So after perusing blogs tonight and merging on some ideas I thought I'd sum up a brief 'thankful' list of sorts:

1) Having dinner discussions about why 14 year olds shouldn't wear thongs.
2) Debating the value of video games with an 8 year old, daily(dude your game sucks, really)!
3) I am known now as the psycho sock police of 4 children (8,9,13, and 14)
4) My partner calls me the "No Queen" and I like that. It's empowering damn it!
5) I get to play ball and fly kites and play gamecube and that's spending quality time.
6) I yell about dishes in the sink only to find out it's my girlfriend's cereal bowl, AGAIN!
7) Our 11 yr dog rides to drop the young 'uns to school; she makes us wait as she watches til they cross the sidewalk to class(not that we have a choice, she sees backpacks and blocks the front door).

8) Changing the kids password on the pc daily so they can't check out porn ( passwords have been, GO CLEAN, GOTCHA, NO WAY, BE PRODUCTIVE) and I love the expressions when I give them the code...LOL!

9) Christmas is a lot more fun...especially seeing all of the toys, clothes, sporting equipment and board game pieces all over the stairs for the next year...hmph!

10) HUGS, lots and lots of hugs.

Well that pretty much wraps up some of the good in our craziness in a an albit brief nutshell (is that redundant?) There's a lot to be thankful for truly, but today there was MUCH 'discussion' over a game at the park we played today which just made me laugh. We decided over Blizzards afterwards that the 8 year old will either become a lawyer or lobbyist...he just argues and negotiates until you are pulling out both his and your own hair. Keeps me sharp though...thanks kid.

Found this ...

from Troll Baby and although I do recall seeing it before eons ago, thought I'd post it for the laugh. Simple but humorous...

This week in pics

Doing my usual read on AZCENTRAL and found some really funny as well as odd pictures I thought I would share...

Ever see Bram Stoker's Dracula...? This is his cat!
Almost cute though, don't you think?

This is so incredibly sad. Kitten was born with one eye and no nose. It's alive and doing okay so far, his mom named him Cy for obvious reasons. I hope he makes it okay. Have never seen this before and thought I would share in case someone out there has before
and known odds of survival?

In Taiwan, three male pigs were bred green "by injecting fluorescent green protein into the embryonic pigs. These are the only ones that are green from inside out, including their hearts and internal organs. " Can I ask a question, WHY!?!?!??! It doesn't say WHY this was done, so was it just to F*(K with nature?!

Ahhhh, yes, this was considered noteworthy...now I feel much better about giving my change (INCLUDING nickels) to the cashier since he's now smiling and looking at us. Whew, I was really worried he or she would think my change RUDE...oh my.
And last, but certainly never the least...my favorite of the week - DRUMROLL!
Oh yea, I never, EVER tire of picking on this guy. Although I think he actually looks better than usual at least he still has that dumb ass expression. Next to him is the Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra - the activist standing there is the artist who in protest of the Thai-U.S. free trade talks expressed his distaste for U.S. (gulp) president with this 'cartoon'. Well done! Man I really can't stomach this guy...how many more years?!?!?!?!

***note on CY - just read on MSN that the kitten lived for one day and then passed.
RIP little guy.

Laughed out loud...

I was perusing some blogs and came across Dooce which I have lurked by before. There was this one recent post in particular that actually had me guffaw out loud :

"...she stuck her fingers in the jar and then slapped some applesauce into her hair. She showed me! Not only is she not going to eat it but she’s also going to decorate her body in protest. Awesome. We’re raising a hippie."

Total visual and I was laughing - especially with that last line. That truly is something to be proud of! To have principle and conviction at that age??? That so rocks!

Now that's funny.... er, I mean sick!

WOMEN ARE EVIL BY NATURE

A sexy woman went up to the bar in a quiet rural pub .... She gestured
alluringly to the bartender who approached her immediately.
She seductively signaled that he should bring his face closer to hers.
As he did, she gently caressed his full beard. "Are you the manager?"
she asked, softly stroking his face with both hands.
"Actually, no," he replied.

"Can you get him for me? I need to speak to him," she said, running her
hands beyond his beard and into his hair.

"I'm afraid I can't," breathed the bartender. "Is there anything I can
do?"

"Yes. I need for you to give him a message," she continued, running her
forefinger across the bartender's lips and slyly popping a couple of her
fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently.
"What should I tell him?" the bartender managed to say..
"Tell him," she whispered, "there's no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper
towels in the ladies room."

Fascinating read ...

Every night I go to AZCentral and read the Buzz section. It's the wacky news and celebrity bits and bites (hm, that may be redundant) for the week or whathaveyou.

One particular noteworthy peice of info was about books actually bound in human flesh. I'd read about this before, years ago but totally forgot about it. Can you imagine reading a book that's cover is made of human skin - what the hell do you use for a bookmark, a tongue??

Anyway here is a pic I found from this site here which actually showed the books they were speaking about. Pretty cool idea for the author to use his hide to cover his book, much more personal than an autograph for sure!?!?!?!?

Must be Year of the Cow?!

It was posted last week about a getaway cow being led to slaughter... now this:

actually at first when I took a quick glance I thought it was a wild boar or something then saw the hoof.

LUCKY cow, again, indeed!

Road Trip...cont.

Okay so previously we were checking out lawn ornamentation in the flesh...
This is a great small college town, Flagstaff of northern Arizona. I come frequently and used to school here once upon a time. The atmosphere is laid back (WAAAAAY back) and the people are friendly and easy going and sometimes a bit goofy.
Exhibit A) According to this sign, this window isn't just dangerous but VERY dangerous. The pic was necessary to show the emphasis placed on this urgent message.

Exhibits B (guys working on the downtown area) :

and C (Lover's Lane just west of campus) :

Okay so I'm just kidding on these two...pretty cool looking though aren't they...don't recall where I picked them up from but found a whole slew of 'em.

This one is perhaps my fave:

Okay well this post ended up all over the place. Got to stop taking METH.. WTF?!?! KIDDING people, just kidding...I'm at work for crying out loud...so I'll just end the rambling here and reconstruct my thoughts for another day. Adieu.

So this is how they leave the lawn...

now we know! Actually, Minta and I were on a road trip, no crazy taxidermy men this time, but we did spot this gent walking down the street and couldn't resist the comparison.

Can you believe?

Feels like I JUST got over a cold and now appears that I have the Flu? Been running temps many digits over my norm and although we tried to maintain our reserved Cabin up north my partner woke this am at 4 to find me just short of literally on fire so we packed up and came home a day early where she has been incredibly patient and understanding.

I hate being sick but normally I can mainain - NOT this time. When I am ill like this I don't want to be touched I don't want to talk, I don't what to see anyone or deal with anything. She's NEVER seen me sick like this. Which is why I see she has that worried look on her face. I don't get fevers and to be as high as I have for the past three days now she's pulling out mother hen on me. I love her though...she's still sexy to me even as she yells at me to put on my scarf and take some medicine etc. She also knew to just go to bed and leave my ass on the couch when we got home this morning. Smart woman, I say it all the time.

So, I grew ill Friday and tried to maintain through the holiday and we did have a wonderful trip - place is Hoel's cabins in Oak Creek Canyon. We were so looking forward to just 'getting away from the things of man' as they have no phones, no television, just a fire place a kitchenette and woods, it was awesome and we did spend the night mostly - it was money spent but to be that far out and me not feeling well... She said I gave her the holiday last night, I felt really shitty about us leaving early but she truly does make me feel better about it all. Thanks, love.

Not the way I wanted to start the new year so for 2006 my NYR is to take better care and be in better health this year! Can I get an amen? lol
